Earlier this month, we met Mehar Zariwalla and Collin Timms from the Institute of Experiential Learning.
Experiential learning is an innovative and engaging form of learning that uses dynamic experiences as a learning tool. Based on the premise that an experience followed by reflection leaves a strong kinesthetic imprint on the learner, experiential learning is a creative and engaging method of learning that can be adapted by different kinds of learners ranging from children to adults.
The Institute has adapted this effective and fun way of learning where following each experience, the experiential learner reflects on the experience, which leads to learning and insights that are unique to each learner. Every enriching experience creates a new learning and insight that is carried forward.
For the Writing and Publishing Lab, Pratham Books will put up the work produced by the children during the workshop on our Scribd account. Also, our content team will be talking to the children on one of the days of the workshop.
This summer, they are conducting the following workshops during the months of April and May:
While the experience labs will take place in Bangalore, the outdoor labs will take place in places across India and the world. Register soon as there are only limited seats available (between 10-20 seats).
The institute also offers its programs on part or full scholarships and interested aspirants can apply to the institute to avail these scholarships. You can also choose to gift an experience to an underprivileged child. Organizations who work with underprivileged children can also approach the institute to opt for scholarships at their summer programs. You can read more about it here.
